In the best tradition of awards program, this year’s Marketing Excellence Awards ceremony —the Singapore region’s premier recognition program—had all the classic elements: the shortlist of winners, the video clips, the drum rolls, the spotlight, and the envelopes with the names of the award winners. And this year, it had something else: Interakt Digital Group on stage as official sponsors to present the award for the “Excellence in Digital Marketing” category.
The awards include 19 categories reflecting the breadth of marketing communications from creative advertising and the use of data analytics to media strategy and consumer insights. Leading industry experts judged each category, evaluating each award entry on the basis of such criteria as strategic approach, creativity, innovation, implementation, and efficiency.
Interakt was honored to be asked to judge the digital marketing category. We were also challenged to pick just three winners considering the stiff competition from such entrants as AirAsia Singapore, Health Promotion Board, and Symantec Asia Pacific.
But ultimately we had to choose. So as they say at all such events, “And the winners are…”
Gold medal: Clozette, an online fashion community, for its Inter-Campus King & Queen 2012 contest.
Silver medal: C & J CLARK, the international shoe manufacturer and retailer, for its online Clarks Spring Summer 2012 collection.
Bronze medal: Philips, the multinational electronics company, for its website, “Are you snoring.”
Being asked to participate on the judging panel was rewarding, and the opportunity to see best in the industry up close was a learning experience not to be forgotten. Congratulations to all who accepted the challenge and put your best work forward for review. You are each a winner in our estimation.
