The Challenge

  • Ensure that the Levi's® in-store retail experience exemplifies the Go Forth messaging of the brand's first-ever global campaign and that all retail staff members understand the campaign message and their role in bringing it to life in-store.
  • Develop a training platform that engages retail staff members, monitors participation, rewards performance, and encourages peer interaction.
  • Train staff in the techniques of "consultative" selling to specific segments—young adult males and women searching for the perfect jeans.

Delivering the Go Forth message inside out

To meet the multi-dimensional challenge, Interakt developed Levi's® first-ever digital learning program delivered through a custom-built, password-protected social media platform. Using a Facebook-like interface to deliver interactive, story-based training, online activities, and social sharing, the platform empowered staff to live the external Go Forth message.

Bringing the external messaging home

Upon login, a teaser video introduced the global messaging strategy. The first learning module provided more details and explained the message delivery channels, the product strategy, and the tactics that would be used in-store. It also delivered a strong call to action to staff to "connect personally and live the 'Go Forth' spirit."

Customer-specific modules for consultative selling

In addition to providing brand positioning and campaign information, the learning modules also addressed how staff could convey the Levi's® value proposition for consultative selling to specific audience segments: the "Levi's® Lifestyle" approach for young adult males and the "Curve ID" for women. Interactive features on the social learning platform brought both to life.

Living the Go Forth spirit

Putting incentive where Levi's® message was, Interakt built a competitive element into the training program. Using the social platform, participants could share and rate their experiences and ideas. The winner would receive a cash prize to pursue their dreams in the true pioneering spirit.
